Made from 100% organic cotton in a 4-layer double gauze weave, this is a cotton gauze blanket built for daily use — very light, naturally breathable, and gets noticeably softer with every wash. Get To Know YOUR MUSLIN BLANKET

A muslin blanket is made from lightweight cotton woven in an open, gauze-like structure, with several of those layers stitched together at intervals. The layering is what gives muslin its softness and its naturally crinkled texture — the fabric puckers as it relaxes, so it never needs ironing.

Most people use one as a year-round top layer on the bed — light enough on its own in summer, easy to stack over a duvet in winter. It also works as a sofa throw, a picnic or beach blanket, and a travel layer, since it folds down small and dries quickly.

Yes — muslin is one of the most breathable cotton weaves there is. The loose, open weave leaves air space between the threads, so body heat and moisture move through the fabric instead of getting trapped against you. That makes it a good choice if you sleep warm.

Warm, but in a light way. The layers of gauze trap pockets of air that hold your body heat, without the weight of wool or fleece. On its own it's right for spring and summer nights; layered under or over a duvet, it adds warmth through winter.

Most standard blankets use synthetic fibres or a tight weave, which holds heat in and softens very little over time. Muslin does the opposite — it breathes, it's light enough to use in any season, and the cotton gets softer with every wash rather than pilling.
